Development Permit Application

General Information - Development Permit Applications

The Niagara Escarpment Plan sets out the land use policies for Ontario's Niagara Escarpment. The development permit process considers the impact of a development proposal on the Escarpment environment. Niagara Escarpment landowners are required to obtain a permit for certain types of development. NOTE: some types of development don't need a permit -- for more information contact the planner in your region.

For general guidelines on what types of development may require a permit, download the "Do I Need a Niagara Escarpment Permit?" handbook. For basic information about development permit applications and the permit process, visit the "Doing Business" webpages.
